Picton Surgery offers a range of medical services. From General Practitioner Consultations to Travel Advice, we'll do our best to help you.
General Practitioners
A 15-minute consultation time to discuss any general medical question. If you have several issues to discuss we advise you to book a double time slot.
Women's Health
These services include routine cervical smears, antenatal care, and general gynaecology together with family planning; which includes Jadelle, Mirena and coil fittings. Our GP can also fit pessaries and perform minor gynae procedures.
Minor Surgery
Minor surgery offered may be for conditions such as skin cancer, biopsy or excision, and in grown toenail surgery.
Youth Health
Confidentiality is the key when offering this specialist total well-being service to our youth population. These services also include mental health and sexual health including contraception and counselling. We are LGBT-friendly.
Vaccinations
We offer childhood immunisation programmes which are fully funded, and other unfunded vaccinations including Chicken Pox, Shingles and Pneumovax.
Diabetes Advice
A comprehensive range of services are offered for people with pre-diabetes, Type 1 and Type 2 diabetes mellitus; including initiation of insulin and referral to various support services.
Travel Advice
We offer a nurse-led travel advice service with applicable vaccinations. Dr Kleeman is qualified to offer yellow fever advice and vaccinations, to save you a trip to a travel doctor.
Nurse Consultations
Our nurses can help with any smaller issues on hand and if you have any worries or queries about your doctors appointment. However, please note that for health related issues you must book with a doctor.
Physiotherapist
A physiotherapy service to help you recover from injuries is available for the general public. Whether the problem is accident-related (ACC) or has developed gradually over time, we carry out individualised assessments to give you the treatment that is right for you. Podiatry
A podiatry service is available to the general public. We offer treatments for diseased toenails & skin, and provide injury & pain management for the lower limbs. We are accredited ACC & Southern Cross Provider. To find out more information, please visit: https://www.carepodiatry.co.nz
